In Virtual Conversation with Jo Cavanagh OAM

On May 22, we conducted our first virtual event, ‘In Virtual Conversation with Jo Cavanagh OAM’. The former CEO of Family Life, Jo provided valuable insights into the reality of what women, and the nonprofits that support them, are experiencing in our 2020 focus areas of Family Violence, Homelessness and Older Women’s Issues. She also reviewed COVID-19’s impact on these areas and discussed her thinking about how we can collaborate to address these issues in the future.

Sincere thanks to MWF member Simone Clancy and the team at Yellowfin for their generosity and technical expertise in making this event possible!

Summer Morning Tea

Before social distancing, Evans & Partners generously hosted our Summer Morning Tea on February 21. This annual event is always a special opportunity for members and guests to come together and make new connections. Grants Committee Co-Chair, Amanda Thornton, discussed the opportunities MWF has created for our Signature and Nurturing Grant winners and Sue Gourlay, Membership Co-Chair, launched our membership renewal season. We also heard from Ark Clothing Company about their work supporting social enterprises run by women. Ark added some extra flair to the event by kindly donating some lucky door prizes that included accessories and personal styling vouchers.
